Space Shuttle Discovery Lifts Off

About 160 people in the CyberDome Theater erupted in applause as the Space Shuttle Discovery lifted off from Kennedy Space Center at 9:39 a.m. CDT! The picture perfect launch marked the United States’ return to manned spaceflight after more than two years! Participants in today’s show were treated to a special presentation about this Return to Flight mission.

Among the spectacular shots NASA provided of the launch was beautiful live video taken from the Shuttle’s external fuel tank gently separating from the orbiter.

We’ll also be carrying the mission live on NASA TV here during Exploration Place operating hours in the CyberDome Theater lobby, so you can catch all aspects missions live for the next few weeks.
